folowen.com social search

In the old days (just a few years ago) people maybe had a blog or a personal homepage (my first home page was on GeoCities!). Today, your friends (or enemies :-) or people you are interested in are talking all over the web. They talk to friends on Facebook. They try to say interesting things to world on Twitter. For Business they are on LinkenIn, their videos might be on YouTube (or even Ikbis) and so on.

What if you want to find all these online presences for a person or organization at once.

Well, now there’s a site for that, Folowen.com.

Better still, it was invented by my friends Razan, Hassan and Alma, who, for some inexplicable reason call themselves Blue Lemon Labs. Maybe one of them is color blind :-)

Anyway, this is Blue Lemon’s second website after they launched Questler.com a couple of years ago.

Folowen works like a search engine. You type a person’s or organization’s name and Folowen returns links to all the online profiles of that person. It searches in more than 20 sites and usually bring back pretty good results.

I personally think that the chances for Folowen for mass adoption are better than Questler’s, which I always felt was trying to do too much and was too connected to the notion of “Learning”, narrowing it appeal.

Folowen is more instantly useful. It is very simple and focused and might catch on.

Also have a look at the interview below with Razan Khatib, who talks to Aramram about Folowen and her thoughts on Jordanian web startups.

    Yeah no interview link.

Great work Blue Lemons! Though, as a Designer, I just didn’t really like the interface, but yeah, maybe because it’s still in beta, let’s see.

Anyways this is one reason for us Jordanians and Arabs to be proud of our great minds, startups and entrepreneurs, keep up the great work guys!
