Haaretz – Israel News – No truth to report of Israeli evacuations before Amman bombs

No truth to report of Israeli evacuations before Amman bombsBy Yoav Stern, Haaretz CorrespondentThere is no truth to reports that Israelis staying at the Radisson SAS hotel in Amman on Wednesday were evacuated by Jordanian security forces before the bombing that took place there. The Israelis were escorted back to Israel by Jordanian security personnel only after the attacks had taken place, contrary to earlier reports. Al Qaida said Thursday that it had carried out the triple suicide bombings at the Radisson, Grand Hyatt and Days Inn hotels in downtown Amman, in which at least 57 people, including an Israeli, were killed.

    You know there were rumors like this after 9/11/01;
    except half the time the rumor was that ARabs got phone calls not to go to work that day; the other half of the rumors were that Israelis or Jews got warnings.

    There’s a website called Snopes.com that tracks “urban legends.” This one ought to go on there. It probably circulates every time there’s a bombing in a major, cosmopolitan capital.

    Leila, you are dead wrong. I and others too have read the Haaretz reports on their official website, stating that Israelis were evacuated before attack. The Haaretz reporter went on Aljazeera and said he made a mistake and that his info was based on tips from a diplomatic source that turned out to be innacurate. The error was an Israeli one not some arab rumor as you suggested. When it comes to you and a few others, it seems Israel and US today enjoy the benefit of the doubt despite all the killings they commit in broad day light. I find that a bit disturbing.

    why do you think Israel did the Aman bombing?
    Didn’t Al-Quida already take credit.
