Amman Limitless towers

Imagine swimming in the world’s highest suspended swimming pool. It’ll be at a height of 125 meters and will have a glass bottom.

Just imagine this. In Amman!

This is not a joke but what will be a reality in 3 years. Limitless, a well-know Dubai-based real estate development company (which is part of the giant Dubai World group) will be building Jordan’s highest towers near Abdoun. This will dwarf the Jordan Gate twin towers.

Gulf News reports:

“Limitless Towers is an architectural wonder that sets new standards in iconic, sustainable building design,” said Saeed Ahmad Saeed, CEO of Limitless.

“Jordan’s fast-growing economy, changing real estate requirements, convenient location and stability make it a firm favourite in our list of markets.

“Limitless Towers is the first of several distinctive, sustainable projects currently being assessed by our Jordan team,” he said.

Work on Limitless Towers is due to begin in October 2008 and will take around three years to complete. Units are expected to go on sale from this summer.

Limitless Towers will also be the first green building in Jordan, adopting a host of eco-friendly initiatives in its design, construction and maintenance, including energy-saving techniques and water recycling systems to get the LEED certification.

Limitless towers in Amman

Now. Let’s take a deep breath.

The Dubai people are not stupid. I am no real estate expert. But can someone explain to me who the target market is for this projects and other like it.

In an interview I read with he CEO of Limitless in the Amlak weekly real estate paper [Arabic link], he says they are targeting high-income buyers. He says their research has shown a lack of high-end, world-class apartments in the Jordanian market.

But who are the people who will actually buy?

Is it all wealthy Gulf citizens. Is it Europeans? Wealthy Jordanians? Russians?

I am truly confused.

I sort of understand how these things are marketed in Dubai, which, by now, has become a major trade, transport and entertainment/shopping hub.

But why Amman?

I am not asking this question is sarcastic manner. Do these developers see such a vibrant future for Amman and Jordan. If so, how come we always have this cloud of economic gloom hanging over our heads?

We need answers!

Let me give you this example:
We know a wealthy kuwaiti guy, he bought an appartment in the area around sweileh, he only comes once a year..When asked why he bough the appartment when he can rent it, he said, you never know when the war is going to erupt with iran!

The situation in lebanon doesn’t look promising, so thats another thing…We trade with the business of safety and “peace”…Is it real safety? I leave the answer for the days to come..

I would definitely like to see these questions answered! I truly can’t think of any group of buyers that are interested in buying in this new project.

On a side note, they really irritate me with how they disregard the skyline of Amman and really ruin the whole scene rather than enhancing it. I mean, to look at good architecture that blended in very well yet stood out I’d say Le Royal takes the lead – as well as other high tower buildings in Jabal Amman that are not all about glassy glossiness.

So yeah, first with “Wa7sh El 7ara” as Razan called it, and now the bigger Wa7sh…

Well, Im not sure why they build such places in Jordan while there is no real infrastructure, real roads, or even a real economy in Jordan. I wouldnt live in such a tower with a flat costing not less than 300K and I know that 90% of jordanians are under poverty line and suffering from this redicuouls increase of prices!

    This is all plastic

I’d never go for it, even if I had the money (although the swimming pool part DOES sound good ;-P ; I don’t think swimmers will be visible from outside btw)
If I had that money, I’d rather buy myself a small house with garden
    in a quiet street.

A normal flat 100,000 JD is a far away dream for me that thinking of my current financials sounds like impossible to get. So those new flats in these towers would only benefit my sight with their beautiful view.

Amman has no water… how are they gonna get water to these towers? how will they have water in the fire sprinkler system? Amman is starving for water… of course, Jordan is in the business of screwing the poor out of water to cater to the rich who will live in the towers. allah y3eeen the people of jordan. What will happen if there is a fire and the sprinkler system doesn’t work cuz THEY WILL NOT HAVE WATER IN THEM????? maybe they should build some water desalination plants, improve their water collection systems, dig for wells, run a pipe from Syria to get us water before we build stupid tower!! yet again, what do i know.. we have infrastructure

There is alot of water in Amman if you can afford it. Wherever you look you find 5 star hotels and restaurants at their fullest, wild cars with teenage boys and girls, and mall after mall keep sprouting with extravagant cinemas and pubs. I am really happy the rich guys here are multiplying by thousands. If we middle class can survive it, maybe we could also get some scrambles of Jordanian riches. You know – wealth redistribution theory – or practically operating such a building and serving its occupants would generate hundreds of paychecks feeding thousands of hungry mouths :) Capitalism is great, really, especially here since its unspoiled by humanitarians or social democratic governments. 97% of real estate transactions last year were conducted by Jordanians (Gov. Statistics), not Iraqis or others. Obviously we are getting richer and there is vibrant future for Amman and Jordan and some of their citizens (the fittest).

the sea can be heard or seen from your bedroom, we need
    WATER TO DRINK .

i always thought that Jordan is poor but realized afterwards that Jordan preserves the riches people in the region and they have big monies and they do invest and live a prestigeous life.

water is always available all over the world .. and if you run out of water in your house (in jordan) you can always search in your pocket for some money and buy at what you can afford and need.

this is a beautiful project and an honor to have such towers in Amman and we should be proud of it … and why not to have such an iconic project in our home ! :(

btw Jordan is seeing a highly unique urbanism and development, the tower develpments coming soon in Amman, the metro, and everything we dreamt of will be here in Amman :) :):).

last words guys .. if you have some money saving try to invest them in some properties rather than u regret it 8 years from today.

    🙂

Jordan is such a screwed up country .. most of the country lives under poverty yet the gov’t spend most of it’s money in one single area of West Amman?? why?? residents of West Amman are the few Wealthy or people who protend to be Wealthy?? what happened to the Native Jordanians? why a hospital in a city like Salt matches those hospitals in countries like Uganda? why school kids in the Jordan Valley attend school bare foot .. yet they have computers to do there home work on???? so in the end should we just have a country called West Jordan?

Abu-Rumman, well said dear. It’s a mighty shame what our country has become. People want to believe that Jordan has become this “westernized mecca” when in fact people are starving to death. The rich keep getting richer and the poor remain the same, where’s the sense in that? But who cares as long as I have my ridiculous apartment with a swimming pool attached?! WAKE UP people!
