In today’s Al-Ghad Newspaper, the was a call for a campaign to gather one million signatures against terror and its ideology. I truly hope that this idea is taken up by the Jordanian media and NGOs. This will not deter those who have already adopted the ideology of terror, but it will send a clear signal that their agenda is unacceptable.
I also noticed that the voices against terror apologists or those who try to beat around the bush, (condemning terror, with a ‘but’ added) are getting louder in the press.

condemning terrorism is the easy part, the problem is you have to put it into context and that’s not so easy.

excuse a naive question from a feeble-minded individual: what are they going to do with the million signatures? are they going to hand it to zarqawi and tell him “see! we got a million signatures, now stop blowing people up”?
No, they won’t hand it to Zarqawi. But:
1. Bombs are also political messages. You confront bombs not only with security measures or displays of the flag, but by showing large scale refusal of their political and societal agenda.
2. It is a message to the sympathizers and apologists of terror.
