Jordan Short Film Festival 2006
I just received an email from the organizers of Jordan Short Film Festival announcing their final program. Here is some info about this year’s festival:

For 2006, the JSFF will take place jointly with the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival.

For the 2006 session of the Jordan Short Film Festival, we are holding an international competition and a Jordanian film competition, with prizes up to 2000 Euros.

FESTIVAL TRACKS

TRACK I
Screening of the The Best of The Clermont-Ferrand, an eclectic selection of award-winning films from France, the Arab world, and the rest of the international community.

TRACK II
Arab & International Film Competition with awards ranging from 2000 Euros to a trip to attend the 2007 Clermont-Ferrand festival with hotel, expenses, and unlimited festival passes paid by the French festival.

TRACK III
Panorama of international and Arab films. A selection of films presented to the JSFF audience outside the competition.

TRACK IV
A number of educational workshops will be organized during the festival. Of special interest is a children workshop organized by the Clermont-Ferrand in collaboration with the Jordan River Foundation.

TRACK V
Focus on regional cinema. This year we will focus on Gulf, Iranian, and Syrian Cinema.

Most tracks will take place at the Royal Cultural Center in Amman. The children section to take place at the Queen Rania Child Center.

The JSFF06 competition year is open to both Jordanian and Arab short films. The Panorama is open for all. Next year, we plan to go international with the competition.

Definitely worth checking out.
