457A7Cac787F4 Jawdat Said

With the increasing violence in the Arab and Muslim worlds, and with the global agenda focused so much on the issues of terrorism, Jawdat Said is a muslim thinker worth looking up again. The man has been consistently calling for a non-violent vision of Islam for the past 40 years.

By brother Bashar, who, unlike me, works as a ‘real’ journalist in Germany, just published his latest article (Arabic link. German version here) in the German-Islamic dialogue site Qantara.de, introducing Said’s stream of thought. The article originates from his Master’s dissertation which was about “Islamic movements between violence and non-violence”.

Always knew Bashar will become one great journalist.
Please send him my best regards!

We used to go to the same class in university before he left to Germany.
I always had such interesting conversations with him along some friends. It was such a sad day when we knew he would leave, but the most important thing is that he made it :)
