Ok, this is really old new by now. But I still would be interested in more info.
Last year, Amman got its first tour busses which, like in any big capital, meant to keep going around town in a certain path, passing through all the cities notable sites, shopping opportunities and landmarks.
They became part of the street scene. But a few months ago, they disappeared!
What happened. Did the experiment or business mode fail. Can it be relaunched in a smaller way.
Does anyone have any clue?

One response to “Where the heck did Amman’s big red tour busses disappear?”
1. Size – they opted for the large busses… not practical for our streets. And they were never full, so I can’t imagine made business sense. Coz of size, they had to cancel Webdeh and dowtown off the route!
2. The service was sloppy – so many stories of people waiting at the stops, the buss would finally pass, not stop, continue cruising while the passengers-in-waiting looked on in disbelief.
3. A friend got on once, it was totally empty, conductor was smoking. Miserable experience, she got off right away coz it was simply unbearable.
4. They forgot to appoint a project owner/manager/operational godparent who obsesses over the project to make it happen.
The usual story. A project that looked good on paper, someone wrote a convincing financing pitch. Upon implementation someone forgot to inject it with soul… and accountability!
