Is anyone in Amman having an internet outage?
I have an ADSL line from Orange. A bit past midnight the web started acting crazy. Most pages don’t load. Some do very slowly. Is anyone facing the same problem?

Yes it’s not just you. I’m having the same problem at home and work (both on Orange).
The odd thing is that it seems to go and come back very quickly. Like one hit returns a 404 error, and the next one works without problems.

Yep, same here Ahmad… though everything seems to be fine this morning.
I believe it started earlier in the evening, like 8pm, when I couldn’t even transfer a simple sound file over skype. It cut out 3 times and gave up.
Orange=great global brand with monopoly control over Jordan’s bandwidth. Hooray.

It’s not really down but I think they are having problems with their DNS server.

The problem was with the DNS server, there is a very nice solution you can use it if it happens again,
just go to your router configuration and change the DNS to following:
Primary DNS 208.67.222.222
Secondary DNS 208.67.220.220
it will improve your browsing (sometimes).
or search google for an Open free DNS servers.
