So yesterday the Amman Stock Exchange shot up 4% or something and almost hit the 7500 mark (ok it’s down 1.5% today, but you get the point). And this morning it started raining heavily. What else would one wish for in late April?

Answer:
1. Divine intervention to stop those who smoke in elevators.
2. An explanation of how and why a hideous looking restaurant got built outside the airport’s arrival lounge.
3. An explanation why Jordanian road engineers don’t take rain into consideration.

Haha, I love the second point. It’s really so funny… it reminded me of the ancient Ata Ali in Shmesani. Very.. em.. Levantine vintage. Except its new.

I have a question, With Amman being so darn expensive now even for those with money, can someone please tell me how will increasing the prices of goods but yet not ever incresing salaries help Jordanians? I dont see the reasoning behind that…. I moved here 2 years ago thinking better quality of life, great salary etc etc. You know I am beginning to think that even if one made 2 thou JD or more a month at the rate that gas and goods are going up 2 thou a month isnt even enough! I cant even imagine those that I know who livee off of 100 JD! MANNNN…….Dont forget rent in West Amman is a killer, man its just as expensive as living in Manhatten or LA! I am actually considering moving back to the States once my contract is up if Jordan stays like this, I sure do miss my sales, clearances, Wal-marts, Marshalls etc…..And please dotn say Carrefour cuz the carrfour I know isnt that darn expensive!
