Ikbis goes mobile!

Fastlink, part of the Mobile Telecommunication Group (MTC), launched a new photo and video sharing service in cooperation with IKBIS.com. The service is the first of its kind in Jordan and the region that enables subscribers to view the top user generated videos uploaded on the Arabic website IKBIS.com.

The service, provided by IKBIS.com exclusively for Fastlink subscribers, will enable customers to view the top uploaded videos on the site through their mobile phones, twice a week. The website allows its visitors to upload personal or other videos, resulting in a big community for video sharing, which helps promote creativity and talent.

Fastlink Customers can subscribe to the service by sending the word IKBIS or اكبس (in Arabic) to 97979, that can be enjoyed, free of charge, for Fastlink subscribers, starting today and lasting until the first of September. At the end of the period, IKBIS.com service subscribers will be charged 20 piasters for every video link received, in addition to a 3Fils/KB charge upon downloading the received video.

Fastlink’s Senior Data Manager Ziad Al Masri Said that the new service, which is based on user generated content, reflects Fastlink’s continuous adoption of the latest services and technologies, be it in entertainment, culture, news or others. Al Masri added that the service also comes in line with the company’s belief in meeting the ever-changing needs and interests of Fastlink subscribers. “The company currently offers different services through SMS and MMS with a variety of content that corresponds to people from all levels, age, profession and interests” he said.

Ahmad Humeid, CEO of TootCorp the company behind Ikbis.com said that “with the increasing use of internet and mobile media, media snacks in, the form of short videos became perfect for watching on the mobile”. “We are truly delighted that we are partnering with a leader like Fastlink to make our site’s content available to millions of users on their mobiles” he added.

Humeid added that Cool clips and pictures are being captured on mobile phone every second of the day and it is the company’s mission to make it easy for people to publish and share what they capture.

To date, Fastlink has launched many services including SMS and MMS, info services, Samma3ni, Blog, Mazad, Mymail, online games and 1234 online as well as video streaming.
